When we were invited to film the wedding of Kate and Luke in the heart of the Cotswolds, we just couldn’t hide our excitement – as an area, the Cotswolds is nothing short of stunning, and the venue that the couple had chosen was a beautiful barn at Merriscourt, an amazing and historic place set in 500 acres of breath-taking countryside. This was such an incredible setting and a wonderful place to film in. We had such an amazing time here, and Kate and Luke, both Doctors, had planned everything to perfection. The promises that they had prepared were just beautiful, and then Kate and Luke’s first dance was perfectly choreographed to a live band.

The photo shoot was timed perfectly for ‘golden hour’, making the most of the gorgeous sunset over the countryside setting, and we managed to film some beautiful, natural moments of the couple bathed in the soft golden sunlight of the early evening – sometimes allowing nature to provide these opportunities really pays off, and this was definitely one of those times! The wedding speeches are always such a joy to witness – and being able to capture those moments on film is always one of the most memorable, for the raw feeling that they stir up. We adore seeing the guests’ reactions – the tears, the laughter, and the pure joy that people feel when they hear stories from the couple and those closest to them. The groom’s speech was wrapped up beautifully, with a Haribo ring that he had presented to Kate when they had first met – what a gorgeous and funny moment! To take full advantage of the outside space of the property, a game of croquet was set up on the lawns for the guests to enjoy – we had a lot of fun filming some of the games, and those who played enjoyed every moment – a lot of laughs were had!
